Baltic Connections
Extend your Lapland short break and visit some great capital cities by sea! Stockholm, Helsinki and Tallinn are connected by stylish modern cruise ships which ply the Baltic Sea offering an overnight or daytime crossing. These full facility vessels offer a great alternative to flying and you might not want to get off!
If flying to Lapland via Stockholm, why not consider a 2 or 3 night extension in Helsinki or the delightful capital of Estonia, Tallinn. The Tallink/Silja line operates regular services between these three destinations and extending your stay might be easier and cheaper than you think. And it should be noted that these are far from being simple ferries – each ship boasts unmistakable Scandinavian design and décor together with a wealth of onboard Duty Free shopping, first-rate dining and entertainment facilities.
Imagine sailing out through the beautiful Stockholm archipelago, countless islands dotted amongst a frozen ocean – no problem for these ice-strengthened vessels and breaking that ice is all part of the experience. During winter much of the Baltic Sea is frozen – its many hues changing from white to deep blue, edged with frosted coastlines, providing endless photo opportunities. How romantic, sailing into an historic city - old town skylines contrasting with chic, new buildings, full of places for excellent wining, dining and shopping and of course, cultural pursuits.
THE ROUTES
We offer three routes which may be combined to take in two or three cities – subject to sailings and flight connections back to the UK.
