The first night of this new self-drive itinerary is at the very homely Northern Lights Inn, practically adjacent to the Blue Lagoon. It would be a shame to miss Iceland’s premier attraction so perhaps take a swim next morning in the famous milky-blue waters (entrance fee applicable) before heading off into the countryside.
The final night is spent at Hotel Reykjavik Centrum, or similar, allowing you to explore the capital and its famous nightlife. Or you could just sample one of the many excellent quality restaurants on offer.
