Vatnajokull National Park

Introduction

In June this year, the border of Vatnajokull National Park’s southern edge was extended to include the exisiting parks of Skaftafell and Jokulsargljufur. Now at an amazing 12,000 sq km, this is the largest national park in Europe and it isn’t surprising to learn that it encompasses some of Iceland’s most outstanding and diverse areas of natural beauty.

This wonderful new self-drive itinerary enables you to take in some of the many natural wonders of the national park as well as other classic sights that make Iceland such a remarkable destination to discover. Here are some pictures of just some of the tour highlights below.
