Itinerary
|
| Day 1: |
fly to Keflavik and transfer to Reykjavik City Airport for the onward flight to Isafjordur. Spend two nights at Hotel Isafjordur. For those travelling on a later flight, overnight in Reykjavik and just have a single night at Hotel Isafjordur. |
| Day 2: |
free to explore the area at leisure. |
| Day 3: |
drive south along the fjords to Latrabjarg, visiting Dynjandi falls on the way. Check in at Hotel Latrabjarg where you’ll stay for two nights. |
| Day 4: |
visit the bird cliffs at Latrabjarg, optional walk to Raudisandur beach. Visit the absorbing Hnjotur Museum which details the history of the local area and its fishing and farming heritage. |
| Day 5: |
drive through the inland route to the picturesque Strandir area - two nights at Hotel Laugarholl. |
| Day 6: |
a full day to explore the Strandir coast. |
| Day 7: |
drive along the shores of Isafjardardjup to Mjoifjordur. Overnight at Heydalur, an excellent place for kayaking, horse riding and hiking. |
| Day 8: |
continue to Isafjordur, drop off rental vehicle and fly to Reykjavik. Overnight at Hotel Loftleidir. Transfer to a city centre hotel for an overnight stay. |
| Day 9: |
depending on which flight you have booked, possibly have time to explore Reykjavik before transferring to Keflavik for the flight back to the UK. |
