Exploring East Greenland

Itinerary
Day 1: fly to Iceland
fly from the UK to Keflavik and transfer to Reykjavik for an overnight stay.
Day 2: fly to Greenland
fly from Reykjavik to Kulusuk and transfer to Hotel Kulusuk for 2 nights, afternoon at leisure.
Day 3: Kulusuk
follow a track to the site of a former radar station. From 1000 ft up, the views of the mountain ranges and the ice-filled ocean are simply wonderful.
Day 4: Tasiilaq
transfer by helicopter to Tasiilaq. Hike to the Valley of the Flowers, a luxuriant valley where a surprising variety of Arctic summer flora can be seen.
Day 5: Tasiilaq Hike
hike to ‘Hydro’ valley along a dirt road created to access the generating station. View picturesque waterfalls and possibly reach Mittivakkat glacier.
Day 6: Coastline Hike
hike to the lakes and along the coastline with amazing views out to sea where giant icebergs and broken ice floes dot the scenery. Alternatively take a longer hike around the lakes and mountains of the Ammassalik Island.
Day 7: Tasiilaq Mountain View
head up Seamans Mountain with amazing views of the town. At the 2000 ft summit (609 m) the views are simply breathtaking with visibility sometimes exceeding 200 km.
Day 8: Reindeer Wall hike
hike to the ancient stone ‘Reindeer Wall’ and low-lying granite ridges, an area which offers views over the icebergs and pack ice.
Day 9: Fly to Reykjavik
return to Kulusuk by helicopter then fly to Reykjavik for an overnight stay.
Day 10: Fly to UK
transfer to Keflavik Airport for the flight home.
