Icelandic summerhouses are privately owned country properties in beautiful rural and village surrounds. Used by their owners as holiday homes, they are also available for rental to visitors, providing a special opportunity to experience a genuine Icelandic ambience.

These delightful and highly individual properties range from purpose-built wooden chalets to village homes and farmhouses each with its own style and character. They are fully furnished and ideal for a self-catering holiday that we feel will appeal in particular to families with young children or small groups of friends. |

As the summershouses are mostly located at a distance from public transport routes, car hire is essential. The properties are rented from 15:00 on the day of arrival to 10:00 on the day of departure, on the following basis:
Thursday to Sunday: 3 night rental
Sunday to Thursday: 4 night rental
Sunday to Sunday: 7 night rental
Thursday to Thursday: 7 night rental |

If you wish, you may combine a stay in a summerhouse with other travel arrangements on this web site. For example, add a night or two in Reykjavik or stay at a hotel or farm guesthouse. Alternatively we can tailor make a holiday entirely to your own itinerary and include a stay in a summerhouse as part of it - our staff would be pleased to advise on the options.
The summerhouses are all non-smoking and the cost of each varies according to the property size, the time of year and the number of days you wish to rent.
