With guaranteed quality snow until late June you’ll soon be grinning once more as you strap on your boots, adjust your goggles and head for the ski lifts, which by the way, probably won’t have any queues. And another great thing about this resort, the ski lifts are within easy walking distance of the accommodation so no need to struggle with your equipment getting on and off transfer buses and you can pretty much ski all the way back too!
Whether opting for hotel or self-catering accommodation, on a 3, 4 or 7-night stay, a trip to Riksgransen will allow you to indulge your love of skiing and other winter sports in a resort on the verge of hitting the big time!
Fly into Kiruna and transfer by bus, the 2-hour journey through wonderfully scenic countryside preparing you for the spectacle to come. If you get the opportunity to take a helicopter trip whilst here, the aerial views are just awesome! And remember, this far north the northern lights could well make an appearance unless of course you’ve come for the midnight sun skiing!
Slopes are generally open until 16:00 daily until the last weekend of May, with the addition of evening skiing from 22:00 to 00:30 on a couple of days a week for the last two weeks of May. Then in June, expect to ski until 16:00 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with slopes open again one or two days a week from 22:00 to 00:30.
Ski passes and equipment hire can be arranged locally.
