Ishestar ehf. has an important role to play in protecting the environment to benefit future generations. The goal of Íshestar is to support the development of nature, society, culture and the economy. Íshestar aim to reach these goals by:
- Choosing riding trails in close relationship and full agreement with the local people of each area.
- Watching that horse and man disturb as little as possible the sensitive growth and nature of the country.
- Working closely with the Soil Conservation Service and Nature Conservation Agency, other establishments and environmental organisations that deal with environmental matters.
- Seeking our best to use renewable resources in our work and keeping environmental goals in mind where investment and operational costs are concerned.
- Decreasing waste and emphasizing recycling and reuse.
- Encouraging responsibility of conduct towards land and life.
- Creating for employees healthy and secure working conditions.
- Giving all employees regular opportunity to environmental education.
- Sharing information about environmental matters with guests and other clients.
- Fulfilling environmental laws and regulations and steadily improve the environmental policies of the company.
