What you need to know..

WILL THE GROUPS BE SMALL?
Most of our groups consist of a maximum of 25 participants. Just imagine how much longer everything takes when you have a group of 45 people, getting on and off a coach or checking into a hotel! Small groups also help minimise the impact on the environment – very important when nature is as fragile as it is in Iceland.

WHAT ARE THE GUIDES LIKE?
Our guides are hand-picked for their dedication, enthusiasm, organisational and people skills. They are knowledgeable, helpful, caring and thoroughly professional and some have been working with us for nearly two decades.

THE ITINERARIES
We spend a lot of time researching and planning our itineraries, and listening to feedback from our guides and clients. We try to be realistic about how much time is spent travelling or walking so that you book the tour that is right for you. Most trips include a mix of touring by coach and exploring on foot as well as visiting specific attractions. The emphasis varies from tour to tour so please ask if you’re unsure whether a tour would suit you.

THE VEHICLES
The size and type of vehicle depends on the number in the group and the itinerary. Basic, older and more robust vehicles are usually used when the tour involves driving on gravel roads and highland tracks.

WHAT IS THE ACCOMMODATION LIKE?
Most hotels have their own restaurant and bar. Rooms have private facilities and often telephone, TV and radio. Hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities are sometimes provided. Farms and guesthouses vary from basic bed and breakfast establishments to hotel standard with private facilities, restaurant and bar. On tours where sleeping bag accommodation is used (in mountain huts and youth hostels), this is in dormitories but elsewhere usually in two, three or four bedded rooms – see relevant tour for details.

TRAVELLING FROM MANCHESTER OR GLASGOW
Due to differences in flight schedules you may need to add extra nights in Reykjavik or you may wish to take advantage of our two night extensions. See pages 26-29. Our office team will be happy to assist.
