SELFOSS AREA

River RaftingAI01 River Rafting Grade II+ to III
River rafting tours are available for experienced rafting persons as well as beginners. The thrilling ride on the beautiful rivers of south Iceland is an exiting way to explore the landscape from a different angle. Please note that these tours are not suitable for children under 12. KayakingAI02 Kayaking (June to Aug)
Various kayaking trips either on a lake or the sea, in sheltered waters near Stokkseyri. All tours are guided and some clothing provided, although it is necessary to bring a change of clothes. Duration 2 hours £45 (min age 14)

Horse RidingAI03 Horse Riding
There are various options for horse riding in this area, from an hour to a full day. Longer riding tours available, please contact our reservations team for details. Fishing Iceland is famous for its rich salmon and trout rivers. Fishing here is a treat to every enthusiast and beginner alike. The fjords in the Isafjordur area are the location for some of the best kayaking in Iceland. An ideal way to explore this lesser-known region with its breathtaking scenery and magnificent mountains. (all year) Duration 2-3 hours Price £47

AI11 Vigur Island
A 30 minute boat journey to this charming island, which has just 5 inhabitants, who welcome you to experience their unusual way of life. The island is also a home for thousands of birds; eider duck, arctic terns, puffins, black guillemot and many more. Here you can also find a hotel specially built for the eider ducks! AI12 Hiking in the Hornstradir Nature Reserve
This area has been uninhabited since the early 50s, due to the remoteness of the area and inclement climate. Now the flora and fauna is protected, so foxes, birds, seals and plants are found in abundance. The hike takes us through the abandoned settlements. (26 June to 14 Aug) Duration 12 hours Price £91


NORTH ICELAND

RaftingAI13 Rafting Experience Grades I to III
In this part of Iceland, there are numerous rivers, offering various levels of difficulty. The river rafting takes place near the town of Varmahlid. A dry-suit, safety vest and helmet are provided. The roads in the area are ideal for cycling – mainly flat and amongst beautiful scenery, with plenty of places to stop off for a rest or just admire the views. AI16 Husavik Whale Watch
Husavik is recognised as Europe’s whale watching capital. Sail out into the bay in a converted traditional oak fishing boat for regular sightings of minke whale, white beaked dolphin and harbour porpoise. Humpback and other species may also be spotted.
